Work Experience

2023 - Present

NYU Graduate Assistant

As a graduate assistant, I edit news stories that are written by current journalism students - checking for style, grammar, and accuracy. When ready, I publish each story on the student forum, The Click, and make necessary updates or corrections. To increase engagement, I created a social media toolkit that students can use to begin sharing their published work online for a larger audience.

2023 - Present

Washington Square News

As a contributing writer for WSN's Culture team, I gauge rising trends and community issues as they relate to NYU students on and off campus. In my role, I specifically focus on stories that deal with food and dining. This role requires cross-team collaboration, as I am constantly working with other WSN reporters to deliver accurate and engaging pieces.

2022 - 2023

ABC News

As a desk assistant, I worked across ABC's newsroom to write and produce for Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and ABC News Live. I strengthened my skills as a breaking news reporter and producer. During the year, I pitched articles that dealt greatly with South Asian politics, media, and culture which were published on ABC's digital platform.

2022 - 2022

The Wall Street Journal

As a politics reporting intern, I pitched weekly articles to a team of editors based on current events, national issues, and happenings on Capitol Hill. In this role, I collaborated with team of reporters to gather quotes from congressional members and attended daily press conferences and briefings to monitor breaking news scenarios. I also covered a Democratic primary race in Pontiac, MI.

2019 - 2022

Queens Daily Eagle

As a local reporter, I covered many pressing issues that directly impacted the people of Queens, including the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, following the increase in AAPI hate, and the 2020 Census. Here, I fostered meaningful and longstanding relationships with community leaders, locals, and businesses.

2023 - 2024

Master of Arts in American Journalism

I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Journalism from New York University. My expected graduation is Summer 2024. During my time here, I contributed to the university's newspaper and gained valuable experience in multimedia reporting and digital writing.

2018 - 2022

Bachelors of Arts in International Studies

I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at City College (CCNY) through the Macaulay Honors program. I also possess two minors in Journalism and Sociology. I graduated from CCNY summa cum laude and was chosen as the salutatorian of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership.
